Brotherhood • Service • Next Generation • Power • Leadership • Future
Identity
Xi Kappa Tau represents brotherhood, service, next-generation leadership, power, and building men who are prepared to lead the future
Meet Our Mascot Onyx
Onyx is more than just the fraternity mascot. We developed him as the guardian/symbolic protector of the brotherhood and its legacy.
His imagery represents strength, protection, loyalty, leadership, discipline and the idea that individual men become stronger when operating as a unified pack.
Our Purpose
The concept we developed for XKT was an intergenerational brotherhood focused on developing men and boys through leadership, education, mentorship, service, accountability, integrity and personal excellence.
A major component is preparing the next generation of men while protecting the legacy established by the men who came before them.
That's where the wolf/pack concept becomes especially meaningful: lead those coming behind you and protect what you're building for them.
Core Values
We've used these major values throughout the XKT development:
Honor • Courage • Loyalty • Wisdom • Accountability • Excellence • Unity
We've also emphasized four major organizational principles:
Knowledge • Leadership • Service • Integrity
And throughout the recruiting/branding work we've repeatedly incorporated:
Brotherhood • Service • Leadership • Power • NextGen • The Future
Color Creed - We GROW in Green. We STAND in Black. We LEAD in Gold.
Kelly Green — Growth & Legacy
Represents growth, renewal, prosperity, and the continued development of the brotherhood. An XKT man should always be growing while creating opportunities for the generation coming behind him.
Black — Strength & Brotherhood
Represents strength, resilience, unity, discipline, and the power of brotherhood. It also honors the fraternity’s foundation as an organization created to uplift and develop Black men.
Gold — Excellence & Leadership
Represents achievement, wisdom, excellence, success, and leadership. Gold symbolizes the standard XKT men are expected to uphold as they lead their families, communities, professions, and brotherhood.
